You probably spend a fair amount of time, energy, and money finding your perfect cue where the balance and weight match your game while factoring in your budget, skill level, style, and needs. Your pool cue is your most valuable asset in billiards, and the last thing you’d want is for it to get damaged.
It’s not just the professionals that should use a pool cue case to store and protect their cues safely - it’s for everyone who travels, whether that’s to a friend’s house, a bar, a league, or a tournament. At Buffalo Billiards, we have a range of cues, cases, and other accessories to up your pool game.
3 Benefits Of A Pool Cue Case
Types of Pool Cue Cases
The goal of any pool cue case is to prevent dirt, damage, and unwanted warpage. When we play at home, our cues are usually resting safely on a wall or floor rack, but we put our cues at risk when we travel with them.
Depending on the level of protection you need, there are a few different options available.
Soft Case
For beginners, the most common case we see is the soft case. These usually are the cheapest option, holding starter cues. While any case is better than no case at all, soft cases offer the least amount of space and protection.
Hard Case
For full protection, a hard case has tough layers to protect cues ensuring they don’t get bent or warped during travel. They are compact and have a rigid internal structure. The main issue with hard cases is that cues are removed from the top as the case doesn’t unzip.
Box Case
The professional look and protection strength of this case is popular with crowds that travel for their games. While it is great for preventing warpage by holding the cue flat at any angle, it has less storage room than other cases.
When looking for the right pool cue case, the number of cues you would like to carry along and the style you enjoy the most will determine the overall price. We are proud to offer quality cases in all price ranges so you can find one that fits your budget while keeping your pool kit safe as well as pool cue repairs.
